Customer Service Representative - East

Duties and Responsibilities:

  •  Accurately process customer transactions related to; orders, quotes, claims or returns
  • Resolve product or service problems by clarifying the customer's complaint; determining the cause of the problem; selecting and explaining the best solution to solve the problem; expediting corrective action or adjustment; following up to ensure resolution, add controls when required or process engineer as needed
  • Work closely with production and warehouse management to ensure orders are placed correctly, while making sure inventory availability or procurement of custom products is smooth
  • Determine customer requirements and expectations in order to recommend specific products and solutions, recommend alternate materials based on cost, availability or construction contract specifications
  • S.S. training and deployment is required to manage and reduce waste while adding controls to cut down on errors and increase company and customer bottom line cost savings
  • Obtain accurate information from vendors relating to supply chain, shipment dates and expected date of delivery
  • Manage international and domestic freight pickups deliveries and routing. Leverage vendor contacts to ensure all orders ship and deliver, just in time, for customer satisfaction
  • Monitor scheduled shipment dates to ensure timely delivery and expedite when needed
  • Create customers for life by understanding their business needs and anticipating what to do next
  • Complete manual data entry for daily orders that come in via the phone, e-mail or online ordering
  • Customer centric relationships must be formed with dedicated accounts, sales managers, internal and external customers
  • Operate and coordinate shipments from 6 different locations to ensure best transit time, cost and delivery
  • Manage time effectively, meet company and personal goals, work effectively with other members of the services, sales, marketing and production teams
  • Maintain proficiency in using Chempax, (data entry software) Salesforce and Outlook
  • Identify the best freight option for every shipment; suggest options for customer cost savings
  • Present a professional image at all times to customers and management
  • Must be able to work flexible hours when required
  • Proven telephone and computer skills required
  • Effective negotiating and soft skills a must
  • All other duties as assigned

Education, Experience, and/or Skills Required for Consideration as a Candidate:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • S. Diploma or equivalent required
  • S.S. Experience
  • 6 years of experience in Customer Service or related roles
  • Microsoft Office proficiency in Excel, Word, PP and Outlook
  • Sales Force experience or related CRM preferred
