Job: Customer Service Coordinator – Midwest

Job Summary:

Manage vendor relations for logistics and supply chain deliveries. Coordinate internal supply trucks for inventory replenishment.  Manage office materials and supplies, evaluate cost and reduce company spending based on competitive analysis and best practices. Manage escalations regarding customer issues. Utilize LSS practices to deploy process change and eliminate waste to increase company profitability levels. Make independent decisions on vendor relations and material replenishment that impacts the company’s bottom line.   Coordinate with Sales team lead from Midwest region to grow business and manage customer demand and supply chain deliveries.  Take orders and place based on standard procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate product or service problems by clarifying the customer’s complaint; determining the cause of the problem; selecting and explaining the best solution to solve the problem; expediting correction or adjustment; following up to ensure resolution
  2. Manage customer requirements and expectations in order to recommend specific products and solutions. Recommend alternate products based on cost, availability or specifications
  3. Coordinate scheduled shipments and freight vendor relations
  4. Manage weekly inventory transfers and maintain accurate inventory levels based on customer demand and cycle counts
  5. Manage time effectively, meet personal goals and work effectively with other members of the Services, Sales and Production teams
  6. Maintain proficiency in using personal computer, data entry software and other common office equipment
  7. Manage customer transactions such as orders, quotes or returns
  8. Provide assistance and support as needed to Warehouse Manager for various duties including the following (but not limited to):
    • Loading and unloading trucks
    • Picking customer orders
    • Closing out and managing shipping workflow and paperwork
  1. Manage inventory levels for office supplies and Warehouse materials
  2. DOT Hazmat certified shipper, forklift trained and licensed, stay current with DOT and forklift licensing 
  3. Manage temp shippers when Warehouse Manager is out on PTO or unavailable 
  4. Hire, train and manage temps to cover capacity when business needs call for resource additions 
  5. Coordinate customer relations with Team Leader
  6. Manage customer supply chain needs by building relationships and coordinating new business opportunities for revenue and sales growth
  7. All other duties as assigned

Education, Experience, and/or Skills Required for Consideration as a Candidate:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferred
  • H.S. Diploma or Equivalent, required
  • Previous experience in managing direct reports
  • Vendor relation management experience
  • 5 years of experience in Customer Service roles
  • Ability to work with demanding customers
  • Excellent telephone and computer skills
