Job: New Product Innovation Manager

Job Summary:

As a New Product Innovation Manager, the role is to find future technologies that enable Dur-A-Flex to deliver new and exciting business value to customers and identify strategic opportunities that Dur-A-Flex can leverage to expedite commercial rollout(s). This is a hands-on position that requires detailed research on potential technologies and evaluating the business opportunities that come with them. This will likely include identifying new products and services that go beyond Dur-A-Flex’s existing product lines.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identifying and evaluating new business opportunities by understanding market problems, categorizing technology drivers, and following broader industry trends.
  • Keeping a pulse on competitors’ latest activities and business focus, and communicating key insights with internal partners along with recommended actions.
  • Attending notable industry events, such as seminars, trade shows, and private tech events to identify potential partners and accurately assess new opportunities.
  • Effectively communicating to key partners and upper management at DAF by prioritizing findings into digestible content with compelling storylines.
  • Collaborating closely with R&D, Sales, Operations, Marketing, Executives, and other Open Innovation colleagues.
  • Actively leading and contributing to new ideation and innovation workshops within DAF.
  • Ownership of NPI life-cycle for “non-standard” products (as defined or assigned by VP Marketing) from conception through execution, to include business case development/justification, resource alignment, project management and commercialization.
  • Ability to build relationships and leverage all resources at DAF.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Support of Other Marketing, R&D Functions

  • Working with and support for the other areas of Marketing as needed, Trade show, Graphic Design, Lead Generation, Samples etc.

Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities Required for Consideration as a Candidate:

  • BS in Technical, Business or Marketing discipline
  • 5 years experience in Product/Channel Management
  • 5 years experience in Stage-gate Project Management
  • Must demonstrate structured thinking to define problems and arrive at practical and realizable solutions to identify new opportunities.
  • Have strong communication, presentation and storytelling skills.
  • Great interpersonal skills, lots of energy, and proactive perspective with builder’s mind to proactively build new business opportunities for DAF.
  • Naturally curious with a problem-solver mentality.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and current auto insurance.  You may be requested to use your personal vehicle to carry out responsibilities and duties of this position.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.
