Brooklyn Cruise Terminal Restoration

In the fall of 2012, Super-storm Sandy hit the Northeast. The storm brought mass devastation to states up and down the eastern seaboard and one facility that was particularly hard hit was the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal. Over 100,000 square feet of carpet and tile sat under 4 feet of water at the height of the flooding.

When it came time to restore the facility, the New York Economic Development Corp. (NYEDC) knew that they needed a flooring solution that could withstand flooding should an event like this ever happen again. They chose two Dur-A-Flex seamless systems known for their high moisture tolerance and excellent wear resistance characteristics.
