Job Summary: We are looking for an experienced Scheduler/Planner who will provide support by planning schedules and managing the movement of material through the production and manufacturing processes to ensure a consistent flow of products.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Coordinate interplant transfers of materials and informs Sales personnel and plant personnel as to material availability, production schedules, shipping schedules, and related information.
  • Ensure coordination with Operations to execute Production Plan on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
  • Coordinates order changes in production scheduling and shipping. Resolves daily problems with regard to material rejections and production changes due to equipment breakdowns.
  • Utilize the ERP/MRP system to streamline and automate the scheduling process.
  • Maintain a database of probable schedule durations by activities as well as overall durations.
  • Supports ongoing projects by working with the project manager and discipline leads on project status, identifying opportunities for improvement, delays, and areas where additional concentration is required. 
  • Track KPIs (on-time starts/completions, work-order aging, inventory aging, etc.)
  • Monitor and maintain inventory to ensure target finished goods levels are established and maintained, surplus levels do not occur and inventory turns targets are met
  • Identify gaps and drive solutions, including metrics for production performance to the requested production schedule.
  • Monitor actual output versus the Master Production Schedule.
  • Interacts with Quality, Production, Customer Service, Shipping and Sales to ensure deliveries are met.
  • Provide progress reporting documents and briefing materials as required
  • Participate in vendor/client calls as required
  • Available to work extended hours when required.
  • Follow all established company policies & procedures.
  • All other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Education, Experience, and/or Skills Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED, required
  • Associate’s Degree, required
  • B.S. Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or Business Administration, preferred
  • Lean Six Sigma experience, preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of ERP systems
  • Minimum of 5 years manufacturing experience
  • Experience working in a fast paced environment
  • Must possess excellent mathematical skills
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills
